ANNA R KAPLAN, MD

My approach to care combines my medical training and my experience as a parent, who has been in your shoes at a pediatrician’s office. I believe your child deserves evidence-based treatment and preventative advice, explained clearly, memorably, and compassionately.

A child’s health is always paramount, but a significant part of my role is to support parents. My goal is to partner with parents to figure out what your child needs and how best to get it, in a way that is tailored to work for your family.

I am passionate about child health advocacy on a local, state, and national level. I co-founded the annual

Advocating for Children Together

conference at Children’s Hospital Oakland, which brings together over a hundred pediatricians to promote policies supporting children’s health. I have also worked with local music venues to bring musicians and concerts to children while they are in the hospital.

I enjoy singing and playing the piano and guitar. I love traveling, whether to campgrounds in Northern California or abroad. I make ceramic art and love the pottery wheel. Most of all, I love spending time with my husband and three children.
